Description

The Monte Orsario area has many karst manifestations: in fact, in addition to numerous sinkholes, we also find furrowed fields which are limestone rocks outcropping with grooves, holes and corrosion pans shaped by atmospheric agents. Much of the area is occupied by the karst bush with black hornbeam and downy oak, but there are also oak and Turkey oak woods. The deep sinkholes host some rare flora species.
